On Monday, Iran’s foreign ministry categorically dismissed Washington’s assertions that a drone assault on a tanker off the Indian coast was “fired from Iran,” labeling such claims as “worthless.”

The incident occurred on Shabbos, targeting a Japanese-owned chemical tanker. This unfolded amidst a series of drone and missile attacks orchestrated by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militants in the Red Sea.

“We declare these claims as completely rejected and worthless,” said foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani when asked about the US accusations.

“Such claims are aimed at projecting, distracting public attention, and covering up for the full support of the American government for the crimes of the Zionist regime (Israel) in Gaza,” he added.
