Federal employees could face termination if they participate in a scheduled walkout protesting President Biden’s approach to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, according to House Speaker Mike Johnson.
The Louisiana Republican conveyed this perspective in response to an AL-Monitor news article, highlighting plans by workers in over 22 agencies to protest Biden’s Gaza policy through a work stoppage on Tuesday. Johnson emphasized that “Any government worker who walks off the job to protest U.S. support for our ally Israel is ignoring their responsibility and abusing the trust of taxpayers.” He asserted that such actions warrant dismissal and pledged to collaborate with House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to “ensure that each federal agency initiates appropriate disciplinary proceedings against any person who walks out on their job.”
A collective of federal workers, identifying as Feds United for Peace, reportedly intends to observe a “Day of Mourning” upon the 100th day of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, as reported by AL-Monitor.
Organizers of the anticipated Tuesday protest anticipate the participation of “hundreds” of federal workers, with employees from 22 agencies committing to the walkout. The list includes personnel from the “Executive Office of the President; the departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, and Veterans Affairs; as well as the National Security Agency,” as reported by the outlet. Furthermore, members from various agencies such as the “US Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Naval Research Laboratory, the National Park Service, the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Environmental Protection Agency” are expected to join the protest.

Send them all to Gaza where they can really unite
Is Speaker Mike Johnson perhaps the hero Edward Snowden? He looks so much like him.
