House Speaker Paul Ryan defended Trump’s interactions with Comey, saying “the President is new at this. He’s new to government. And so, he probably wasn’t steeped in the long running protocols that establish the relationships between DOJ, FBI and White Houses. He’s just new to this.”

He continued: “I’m not saying it’s an acceptable excuse. It’s just my observation. He’s new at government and so therefore I think that he’s learning as he goes and he’s — you now know why he’s frustrated, because he was told ‘nothing wrong here’ and he wants to get things done for the American people. He wants to deliver on these reforms.”

  1. Ryan sounds like HE’S new at government. Nothing Trump said or did was wrong according to Comey except for putting Comey down and what would you expect Comey to say? Nobody is talking about what Comey said about Hillary Clinton which WAS criminal but he chose not to pursue, only what Trump said which is not criminal by any stretch of the imagination.
I really thought Ryan was smarter than this. Trump will rightfully disagree with him forcefully like only Trump can and where does that leave anyone? Do you also smell a Ryan run for president coming?
