Last week, a news website posted a “confirmed” report citing “reliable” sources that I was a candidate for the 44th Council Race in New York City challenging the incumbent.
This triggered false rumors across the neighborhood. In my effort to squelch these rumors, I would like to state unequivocally and unambiguously that I never declared or announced that I am a candidate. I am absolutely not a candidate.
I want to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and many well-wishers for their expressions of support and encouragement. I am sorry for their disappointment that I am not a candidate.

Only Matzav rocks!
I disagree he is a candidate.
He would be a good choice, though.
