Soldiers serving in the Southern Gaza Brigade, part of the IDF’s Gaza Division, recently wrapped up a month-long targeted mission aimed at neutralizing underground terror networks within the security corridor in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
During this campaign, the brigade’s forces—working in tandem with elite Yahalom Unit engineering teams—discovered and neutralized a tunnel designed for offensive operations. The tunnel extended hundreds of meters underground.
The subterranean route contained numerous exit points, several of which were rigged with explosives. While securing the area, IDF personnel encountered a terror cell emerging from one of the shafts and engaged them, successfully eliminating the threat.
To date, dozens of terrorists have been taken out in this operational zone. In addition to the tunnel, other hostile infrastructure has been dismantled, and the IDF has expanded the buffer zone, thereby strengthening the security of communities in the western Negev.
The IDF emphasized that its forces “continue to operate against terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip in order to protect Israeli civilians.”
Apparently they’re not done eliminating all the tunnels from northern to southern Israel and Gaza. Which is why they’re dragging with the hostage release. Deals with Hamas is a pretense.
