Clashes erupted Monday morning as Israeli troops entered the Al-Am’ari refugee camp near Ramallah in the West Bank apparently in pursuit of the suspect who threw a heavy marble slab at 20-year-old Sergeant Ronen Lubarsky HY”D during an arrest operation last week, fatally injuring him.
Residents of the Al-Am’ari camp threw stones at Israeli forces as they entered the village with some 30 military vehicles, Palestinian media reports said.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said 13 Palestinians were lightly injured in the clashes as Israeli forces used riot dispersal methods to break up the crowds. Seven Palestinians were arrested during the operation, reports said.
