IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot said Tuesday: “We have an interest that there will be electricity in the [Gaza] Strip 24-hours-a-day, that there will be clean water and employment….That’s an Israeli interest. But it seems to me like a paradox that we would pay for the…electricity while they make resources available to dig tunnels into Israeli territory,” Haaretz reports.

He also noted: “The current focus on defeating ISIS misses the point. There is an interest to push Iran back to within Iran and reduce its regional influence.”

    • A siege is a military blockade of a city or fortress with the intent of conquering by attrition or assault. This derives from sedere, Latin for “to sit”.
Israel has no desire to conquer Gaza, hence there is no “siege”.
Defending yourself from terrorist animals is perfectly legitimate.

  1. Dreykup. Since Israel “lost” the Gaza war, there hav been practically no missle attacks from Gaza. Talk about deterrence.

  2. The islamonazis take a terrorist path not due to poverty, but due to murderous ideology. Providing good economic conditions will not decrease, and may even increase the islamonazi terrorism. This judenrat elites general can’t comprehend how someone may forgo of materialistic goods for the sake of ideology. With this kind of mentality, there is no reason why he shouldn’t betray Israel if he’s offered enough goodies.
