The IDF launched a two-pronged attack against Hamas targets in the southern Gaza Strip after a projectile fired from the coastal enclave landed in Israel, the military said in a statement.
“IDF aircraft targeted Hamas infrastructure used for underground activity in the southern Gaza Strip,” the army said in its statement, likely referring to the terror group’s subterranean tunnel network.
“In addition, IDF tanks targeted Hamas military outposts.”
The IDF said a rocket was fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip late earlier on Monday but landed in open territory. No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
