Israeli Air Force fighter jets are currently engaging in strikes against Hezbollah targets that posed an immediate danger to Israeli citizens, according to a statement from IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari early Sunday morning.

In response to these strikes, the IDF Home Front Command will issue life-saving instructions for the public in certain areas of Israel, based on their ongoing evaluation of the situation.

“A short while ago, the IDF identified the Hezbollah terrorist organization preparing to fire missiles and rockets toward Israeli territory,” said Hagari.

“As an act of self-defense to neutralize these threats, the IDF is striking terror targets in Lebanon, from which Hezbollah was planning to launch their attacks on Israeli civilians. This follows more than 6,700 rockets, missiles, and explosive UAVs fired by Hezbollah at Israeli families, homes, and communities since October 8th.”

“Hezbollah will soon fire rockets, and possibly missiles and UAVs, towards Israeli territory. We will shortly update the Home Front Command Defensive guidelines for those in Israel,” continued the IDF Spokesperson.

“From positions adjacent to civilian homes in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah is clearly preparing to launch a large-scale assault on Israel, putting Lebanese civilians at significant risk. We urge those in the vicinity of Hezbollah operations to evacuate immediately for their own safety,” he stated.

“Hezbollah’s ongoing aggression risks dragging the people of Lebanon, the people of Israel- and the whole region- into a wider escalation. Israel will not tolerate Hezbollah’s attacks on our civilians,” Hagari emphasized.

“We are acting in self-defense against Hezbollah, as well as any other enemy that may join their attacks against us. We are fully prepared to take any necessary actions to protect the people of Israel.”

Reports from Lebanon indicate that the IDF has struck approximately 40 targets.

Meanwhile, sirens were heard in several towns in the Upper Galilee, and several explosions were reported, though no injuries occurred.

Following the IDF’s statement, residents in areas near the conflict zone, including towns in the Golan, have been advised to stay close to shelters.

  1. The wording of this article is very sad. We always feel guilty, so we have to constantly use words like. Defensive, or ‘after they threw hundreds of missiles at us’, or ‘only hitting those launchers ready to shoot’.
