In an operation conducted in Gaza, IDF soldiers recovered the bodies of hostages CPL Nik Beizer and SGT Ron Scherman, bringing them back to Israel.
Following an identification process conducted by medical officials and military rabbonim, IDF representatives notified the families today that the bodies of the hostages, who had been taken by Hamas on October 7th, had been retrieved and returned to Israel.
CPL Nik Beizer, 19, from Be’er Sheva, was seized while serving as a driver in the Gaza CLA, and SGT Ron Scherman, 19, from Lehavim, was taken hostage while serving as an NCO in the Gaza CLA.
Scherman was abducted by Hamas terrorists from his military base bed. He suffered from severe asthma and was captured alive by Hamas.
Beizer enlisted in the IDF less than half a year ago and served in the Gaza District Coordination and Liaison Office.
