Corp. Vicheslav Georgi, 20, from Rishon Lezion, was killed Monday in a training accident at the E-Furan base on the Golan, Debka File reports.
A member of the Golani Brigade, he was performing routine maintenance on a heavily armored Namer vehicle. The tragedy occurred during regularly scheduled drills with the Golani 51st brigade.
Evacuated by helicopter, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Rambam hospital. The IDF notified the family with condolences.
An inquiry commission was appointed by OC Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, to investigate the accident. Debka File
