Despite threats from chareidi parties to bring down the Israeli government over the contentious issue of the chareidi draft law and recent protests from the chareidi community, the IDF is preparing to send out 14,000 additional draft notices to chareidim in the coming weeks.

According to Kan, this marks a substantial increase in the number of draft notices compared to the previous quarter. In the first four months of the current draft year, which began in July 2024, 3,000 notices were issued, followed by an additional 7,000 notices in November. Internal IDF discussions have led to the decision to send out another 14,000 draft orders starting in March.

This move comes at a particularly delicate moment, as the state must soon report to the Supreme Court on the actions taken to expedite the conscription of chareidim.

In parallel, tensions with Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich have intensified, with chareidi parties threatening to bring down the government if the draft law is hindered. This came after some members of the Religious Zionist Party accused the chareidi community of supporting the continuation of the agreement for the return of hostages merely to facilitate the passage of the draft law.

A source within the chareidi parties clarified that the public endorsement of the agreement was made at the request of the families of the hostages and had no connection to the political maneuvering surrounding the draft law.

  1. The evil evil Zionist regime in action. At a perilous time for am Yisroel when they severely need the zechus Hatorah these evil despicable Jews are actually doing actions that would harm the safety of eretz Yisroel and not enhance it.

    Absolute bushah.

    • “Am Yisrael” used to refer to the Jewish people, not the people of the Zionist “State” of “Israel”. It is insulting to G-d and Jews to perpetuate that theft of the term by the Zionists. Also, if referring to the Jewish people as a whole, the term “Am Yisrael” is less preferred than the more noble “Klal Yisrael”.

  2. The Chazon Ish remarked that one day we will wake up to find that the Zionist “State” simply does not exist anymore. The more the Zionists fight G-d, His Torah and His people, the sooner that day will obviously come.

  3. With the current dangerous situation that Israel finds itself in, is this what truly concerns them?! To they feel this will get God on their side?!

  4. The unelected radical leftist judges have too much power. They’ve taken themselves all the power to rule the country. Why aren’t the Israelis demanding judicial reform be implemented immediately?
