The Rachmastrivka Rebbe, who was hospitalized yesterday, has experienced some improvement in his condition, doctors say. He is still connected to a respirator to assist in his breathing.

The rebbe, Rav Chai Yitzchok Isaac Twersky, is a son of Rav Yochanan Twersky, the previous Rachmastrivka Rebbe zt”l, and a son-in-law of Rav Yaakov Yosef Twersky, the previous Skverer Rebbe zt”l.

The rebbe, a renowned tzaddik and mashpiah, leads his bais medrash and kehillah in Boro Park, Brooklyn.

The rebbe had been hospitalized on the third day of Chol Hamoed due to a bout of pneumonia. He returned home the next day, shortly before the onset of the second days of Yom Tov. The rebbe suffered a setback on Sunday and was hospitalized once again.

Doctors hope to be able to remove the respirator tomorrow or Wednesday, as they continually monitor his progress.

All are asked to daven for Rav Chai Yitzchok ben Esther Rivka.
