abbasPalestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is drawing criticism for a Xmas message in which he claimed Yoshke was a Palestinian.

“In Bethlehem, more than 2,000 years ago, [Yoshke] was born, a Palestinian messenger who would become a guiding light for millions around the world,” Abbas said. “As we Palestinians strive for our freedom two millennia later, we do our best to follow his example.”

Abbas “should have read the Gospel before uttering such offensive nonsense, but we will forgive him because he doesn’t know what he’s doing,” Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told the Times of Israel.

Most historians agree that the name “Palestine” was first used by the Romans in the 2nd century CE in order to erase Jewish connection to the region following the Jewish Revolt against Rome. During the time of Yoshke’s life in the 1st Century CE, the region was called Yehudah, or Judea, in connection to the Jewish biblical name.

  1. It could be pshat in the holy Abbas’s words based on a Rashi in Parshas Noach Perek Yud Pasuk Yud Daled. Rashi explains the Pelishtim were descendents from Mamzeirim. In that regard Yushke could identify with the Pelishtim! 🙂

  2. Yoshke was born a Jew and then became a bitter self-hating Jew in the form a xtian a palestinian or whatever you want. Nothing to be proud of.

  3. Yoshke was born a Jew and then became a self-hating bitter Jew in the form of a xtian, palestinian or whatever you want. He’s nothing anyone would be proud of, so who cares?

  4. This Holocaust denier has been rewriting History his entire life! I’m curious what the Evangelicals have to say about this fool’s comments?
