Iris Chaim, the mother of Yotam Chaim, who tragically lost his life after being mistakenly identified as a terrorist and shot by the IDF, conveyed a heartfelt message to the soldiers involved.

In her communication, she expressed her love and gratitude to the soldiers, emphasizing her lack of resentment. “I love and appreciate you. I have no anger. I understand the complicated situation you were in.”

Furthermore, Mrs. Chaim shared that Prime Minister Binyomin Netanyahu personally informed her about the decision to award her son an IDF decoration. This recognition was granted despite Yotam’s inability to serve in the IDF due to medical reasons.

Yotam was abducted by Hamas terrorists on October 7 from his residence in Kfar Aza. He was 28.

In the midst of the Hamas attack, Yotam sent a poignant message in the family WhatsApp group, lamenting the loss of everything and the destruction of his home. His words captured the desperation of the moment: “They are taking everything from me, they are burning my house, I hope to survive.”
