Following the Meron disaster last Lag Ba’omer, insurance companies – both in Israel and the Diaspora – have refused to cover Lag Ba’omer events this year, both in Meron and in other places in Eretz Yisroel.

Almost all insurance companies would not agree to cover any damage or injury that might occur at any Lag Ba’omer celebrations in Israel.

Knesset members tried to pass legislation that would compel state institutions to find a solution to this impasse, but for this year, no remedy was found.

  1. Insurance company is not available? That’s great. Insurance is a scam anyway.

Obligatory Insurance means that you pay more since they know they can charge you more. Didn’t know that??

  2. Insurance companies? No one paid anything to the victims or their families, till *some* legislation passed a mere few weeks ago – over a full year after the tragedy – and the legislation is still incomplete. No one has seen a penny yet. It will come at the expense of other rights, יצא שכרו בהפסדו, too little too late, et al. So what are these supposed insurers actually insuring?! Beyond words
