This morning, the New York Police Department’s by bomb squad safely removed a suspicious device from West 27th Street in Manhattan, four blocks from the site of an explosion that injured more than two dozen people.

The device was to be taken to the department firing range in the Bronx.

Street closures remained in effect until further notice eastbound and westbound from West 14th to West 32nd streets, the NYPD said.

An investigation continues into last night’s explosion on West 23rd Street at a busy intersection in Chelsea. 29 people were hurt.

The NYPD is reviewing surveillance video frame by frame to determine who may have planted the explosives.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner James O’Neill has said it was an intentional act.

There is no evidence yet that the explosion was connected to terrorism.
