According to Iranian state television, the country’s clerical body has disqualified former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from running for the position again in this May’s national election.
The hard-line ex-president registered for the race just last week, but Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had urged him not to run. Read more.
