Rabbi Aryeh Amit of Bris Yosef Yitzchok, an organization that provides a free bris milah for any Jew worldwide, said that according to Rav Shlomo Machpud, the bris milah of many Jews from certain parts of Iran was not in accordance with halacha.
Hundreds heeded Rav Machpud’s warning, Amit said, most recently a man of 71 who was initially afraid to undergo the follow-up procedure due to his advanced age.
