iranian-foreign-minister-ali-akbar-salehiTunisia – Iran’s foreign minister has dismissed talk of an Israeli attack as just bluffing.

Ali Akbar Salehi, during a visit to Tunisia on Monday, said threats from Israel were “empty words, bluffing.”

Fearing that Iran is moving quickly toward nuclear capability, Israel has repeatedly hinted at an attack.

Salehi also pronounced himself “optimistic” about the next round of talks with the six world powers over Iran’s controversial nuclear program, to be held in Baghdad on May 23.

He described himself as “satisfied” with the earlier meeting April 14 in Istanbul. The talks included the permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany.

The U.S. and its allies suspect that Iran intends to produce nuclear weapons. Iran denies that, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

  1. Because they know that we know that if we tried it we’d ch”v get hammered. This isn’t the days of Osirak. Their program is spread out, advanced, hardened, and “grandfathered” by the Russians. Even if we knocked out a few installations it would only slow the program down slightly, at the cost of losing lots of pilots and aircraft and having Tel Aviv bombed. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist – you can just look at a map of the Middle East and measure the flight distances and whose airspace has to be invaded. Oh, and Iran is a lot bigger than Iraq. Noticed?

  2. Mitzraim didn’t believe it can happen to them, but it did. In our time, Saddam Hussein didn’t believe it it could happen to him, but it did. Iran’s turn may come soon. Watch out Oldtimer! May you not share the fate of the officer of the king who told the navi that yeshuah cannot take place, to whom the navi answered the he, the officer would live to see the yeshuah taking place but would not to benefit from it. (He witnessed the yeshuah, but was trampled by the crowd.) Iran’s schemes, plans, and chochmah are no match to Hashem’s will.

  3. #2, Ever heard of the Ribonei Shel Oilam? Ever heard of a higher power that decides the fate of what will be. If you were around during the 6 day war or Yom Kippur war, you too would have had the same attidude. Don’t put your faith into whats on paper. Put your faith in Hashem. He will do the rest

  4. We MUST protect Israel at all costs. It is the holy land. I am a Christian and I believe that the Jews are the Lord’s chosen people.
