Iran Nixes Nuke Scientist Interviews

khameneiIran will not present nuclear scientists for interviews with international inspectors, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday, calling the stipulation one of the international community’s “unreasonable demands.”

Khamenei delivered the remarks on Iranian state TV ahead of the June 30 nuclear-deal deadline.

“We will never yield to pressure,” he said. “Iran will not give access to its [nuclear] scientists.”

A tentative deal reached April 2 allowed for intrusive short-term inspections by UN officials, but there have been disagreements about what that entails. Read more.
