Iran Talks Extended to June

The deadline for reaching a nuclear deal with Iran will be extended once more, officials told the AP, and the talks will now aim to finalize an agreement by the end of June.

Negotiations overnight did not produce a working agreement for Iran’s nuclear program as talks entered the final day before a midnight deadline Tuesday in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Diplomats from the U.S., Britain, China, France, Germany, and Russia met separately and then with Iran’s foreign minister, in attempt to reach a framework for the final accord. Officials were uncertain whether they could meet the self-imposed deadline (6 p.m. ET), and if a third extension was possible.
