A prominent Iranian cleric said on Wednesday that would be acceptable for the country’s citizens to use a coronavirus vaccine developed by Israel—if “there is no substitute.”

“It is not permissible to buy and sell from Zionists and Israel,” Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, 93, told the Iranian daily Hamdeli. “Unless the treatment is unique, and there is no substitute. Then this is not an obstacle.”

Shirazi is one of the highest authorities in Shi’ite Islam and a former member of the Iranian regime’s Assembly of Experts, which appoints the country’s supreme leader, according to The Times of Israel. He has previously called the Holocaust a “superstition.”

At least 429 people have died in Iran from the coronavirus outbreak and more than 10,000 people have been infected. Iran is facing one of the most severe outbreaks of coronavirus outside of China, where it originated.

Israel’s Defense Ministry on Wednesday denied reports that the Israel Institute for Biological Research was almost complete with developing a vaccine for the coronavirus. He said the process was advancing on schedule but would still take time.

  1. Absolutely mind-blowing level of Jew-hatred. And he still “paskens” that b’shas hadchak they can use Israeli medicine – that must’ve been a tough pill to swallow (pun fully intentional).

  2. Unbelievable! Look how they take for granted that Israel will make their vaccine available to Iran. It’s a given! Such is the way Israel is looked upon even by their greatest enemies!

Imagine if there would be a vaccine in Iran. You know who they would refuse to share it with….

Thank you Iran for reminding us why we are Hashem’s Chosen Nation.

  3. Israel shouldn’t sell it to them! The imams will just take it for themselves .
The isrealis should tell them that if they want the citizens of their country to get it then they must somehow come to the border and the isrealis will treat them

  4. Though it might feel good to argue not to sell to Iran, Israel absolutely should do so.
Remember, the typical Iranian citizen is no enemy of Israel. And anyone fighting for his next breath in a hospital shouldn’t suffer because of an evil regime.

    • Agreed, 100%
I said much the same thing to a family member – yes, the evil regime deserves to suffer, but not the innocent citizens (including our fellow Jews) who are hostages of that regime.

  5. Just like when we were in mizrayim. All water became blood, unless the non-Jew was willing to pay.
Israel better not sell, unless they get paid…otherwise the vaccine just may not work…
