ISIS Campaign Already Close to $1B


isis5The U.S. has already spent somewhere between $780 million and $930 million to combat ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria, and it will likely spend a lot more.

According to a report released today by the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, the U.S. will probably spend $200 million to $320 million a month if it deploys 2,000 U.S. troops on the ground.

Even low intensity air operations would cost $2.4 billion to $3.8 billion a year, and some have arguedairstrikes are not enough to successfully beat ISIS. If the strikes are increased, it could jump to between $4.2 billion and $6.8 billion annually. Read more at the Washington Post.
