At least 50 Egyptian soldiers were killed and more than 40 wounded after a string of attacks on the Sinai Peninsula, near the town of Sheikh Zuwaid.
Other soldiers may have been taken hostage, and as many as 70 terrorists were involved in the attacks. Wilayet Sinai, an Egypt-based ISIS affiliate formerly known as Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
ISIS-linked militants have been blamed for a string of assassinations of Egyptian judges in recent weeks. Read more at Sky News.
