Abu Bakr al-BaghdadiU.S. officials say documents taken by Delta Force from the residence of ISIS’ financial officer killed in Syria last month reveal valuable information about how other top officials evade American forces.

Between four and seven terabytes of data (one terabyte is about 1,000 gigabytes) were seized from Abu Sayyaf’s house, officials said.

Among other things, they show that self-style caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi shields his location during monthly visits with local emirs by sending a trusted driver to pick them up—and by making sure they ditch all electronics before getting in the car.

The wives of local leaders also form a close-knit web for transmitting information to their husbands, according to the documents. Read more at the New York Times.
