The Islamic Jihad terror group released a video today, offering proof that civilian hostage Arbel Yehud is alive. She is anticipated to be freed this Thursday.
At the start of the footage, Arbel mentioned that the date was Shabbos. Addressing her family, she said, “I am fine, I miss you endlessly and hope to return to you soon.”
Arbel was abducted from Nir Oz alongside her partner, Ariel Cuneo, who remains in captivity. Her family has yet to publicly acknowledge or confirm the release of the video.
Her release is expected to coincide with that of soldier Agam Berger and one additional hostage. Moreover, three more hostages are scheduled to be freed this coming Saturday as part of the agreement.
Initially, Arbel was meant to be included in the second phase of the hostage deal on Shabbos. However, due to a crisis stemming from Hamas’s breach of the agreement by withholding her release, a new arrangement was made to ensure that she, along with Berger and another hostage, will be freed by Thursday.
In addition, Hamas provided Israel with a list detailing the current status of all the hostages meant to be freed during the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. As part of these terms, Israel permitted Gazans to travel into the northern Gaza Strip earlier today.
