Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit has reportedly made a decision on the charges embroiling Israel’s incumbent Prime Minsiter Benjamin Netanyahu in three corruption cases and could even recommend indicting him to the Parliament Speaker Yuli Edelstein on Thursday.
The unsourced report from Israel’s Channel 13 News channel comes just as the fate of the government hangs in the balance, which could tip should the country’s longest standing premier be indicted.
Netanyahu will be charged with fraud and breach of trust in the so-called Case 1000 gifts probe, the network reported, but there is less clarity in the other two cases due to apparent disagreements within the prosecution.
