Israel Approves More Settlements Including 82 Homes In Ofra

Israel’s Defense Ministry on Tuesday night authorized the construction of about 1,300 homes in a move to push settlement expansion before the Knesset is expected to dissolve on Wednesday.

The Civil Administration’s High Planning Subcommittee approved the expansion of a number of settlements while most of the world celebrated Christmas. The subcommittee is expected to meet again on Wednesday to approve several hundred more housing units

.According to Peace Now, an NGO that closely monitors settlement construction, Israeli authorities on advanced plans for 2,200 settlement homes. This included 1,159 housing units that were given final approval before building permits can be issued and another 1,032 that were at an earlier stage in the process.
