Hussein al-Farhain, an Arab street cleaner working in Beitar Illit, immediately searched for the owner of an envelope with $900 he found lying in the street, asking passers-by if they knew whose it was.
Not knowing how to read Hebrew, he then asked people to check if there were any notices about the loss. The envelope’s owner had actually put up such a notice and soon received a phone-call from Hussein announcing that his money was found.
Mayor Meir Rubinstein granted Hussein a certificate of honor as well as symbolic gift of appreciation for his honesty.

That’s where he found the money – between his shmattes.
If nothing else, this is certainly a newsworthy story; a very unusual phenomenon indeed.
