Israel informed “international officials” that it was not interested in escalating the latest tensions with the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist group on its north border, Ynet reported Tuesday.
According to the outlet, the message also included that the country was ready to make the group pay a heavy price if the frictions were to continue.
Israel will hold Syria and Lebanon accountable for any attacks originating from their respective territories, the message reportedly asserted, echoing Jeruslaem’s long-running position reaffirmed Monday by Defense Minister and Alternative Prime Minister Benny Gantz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
