Haaretz reports that the Israeli cabinet decided this week to declassify thousands of documents that formed the basis of a high-profile 2001 report into the disappearance of Yemenite children during the early years of the state.

If the Knesset approves the decision, the State Archives will post all the documents on its website.

“The families whose children disappeared, as well as the general public, deserve to know what the inquiry commission found,” Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu said at the start of the cabinet meeting. Now, he added, they’ll be able to see “all this material on the internet with their own eyes.”

  1. Yeh sure. The state is going to declassify info that will incriminate itself. Peace with the Palestinians will happen before that!
