Israel to Get Rid Of 500,000 “Others” as Part of an “Enlarged Jewish Population”

Israel’s Bureau of Statistics is likely about to remove half a million non-Jews who entered Israel under the Law of Return from the demeaning category of “other,” indicating they are not Jews or Arabs, and categorize them as members of an “enlarged Jewish population.”

They will still be listed as “not classified [Jewish] by religion” to clarify that they are halachically non-Jewish.

Most of these people are immigrants from the former Soviet Union, who Religious Affairs Matan Kahana wants to Judaize with his conversion reforms.

The move was initiated by Intelligence Minister Elazar Stern of Yesh Atid, who complained that it was distasteful to refer to Israelis as “others.”

  1. All religious (and non-religious) people should realize that we can’t trust the state about anything, whether it is funding with strings to schools, a myriad of health issues being forced on the population, the who is a Jew question and much more. Never turn off your brain – there are also supposedly religious people that push their agenda as well – be careful who you trust.
