Israel To Release 300 Security Prisoners Due To Overcrowding: Report

Some 300 security prisoners are expected to be freed from Israeli jails as part of a bill passed by the parliament’s Interior and Environment Committee in August that seeks to ease conditions for “overcrowded prisons”, Haaretz reported on Sunday.

Israel’s High Court of Justice found that the conditions for prisoners infringed on their human rights, causing the committee to pass the bill that will go into effect on December 20.

The 300 security prisoners are among 1000 expected to be freed on December 20. The High Court also instructed the state to make sure that prisoners have 3 square meters of living space.

  1. Bet’ya these “security prisoners” are innocent Jews tortured and beaten by the Shin-Daled to confess to something they never did. Sadly there are so many of those in Israel’s prisons.
