The Israeli Ambassador to the US, Michael Herzog, and the US Ambassador to Israel, Tom Nides, officially signed an agreement today that advances Israel’s potential participation in the US Visa Waiver program. The agreement allows unrestricted entry into Israel for any US citizen.

Ambassador Herzog expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent Israel in signing the U.S.-Israel memorandum of understanding. He acknowledged the joint efforts from both sides, especially highlighting the contributions of Ambassador Tom Nides and DHS Under Secretary Rob Silvers.

“I was privileged today to represent the government of Israel in signing a U.S.-Israel memorandum of understanding on the extension of reciprocal privileges in the visa waiver program. This is a significant milestone towards Israel joining the program. Thank you to everybody on both sides who worked so diligently towards this goal, especially my colleague and dear friend Ambassador Tom Nides and DHS Under Secretary Rob Silvers, for their significant contributions,” Ambassador Herzog said.

Israeli National Security Adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, praised the accord, emphasizing that it enables all American citizens to enter Israel without any restrictions. Once Israel becomes a program member, the same privilege will be extended to Israeli citizens entering the USA, eliminating the need for visas. The procedure applies universally to all Americans, including those with dual citizenship, residing in Judea and Samaria, or living in the Gaza Strip.

Hanegbi emphasized the significance of this agreement, saying: “This procedure will allow any American citizen to enter Israel, and subsequently, with the acceptance of Israel as a member of the program, will allow any Israeli to enter the USA without the need for a visa. The full application of the procedure will apply to any American regardless of who he is, including Americans with dual citizenship, Americans living in Judea and Samaria and Americans living in the Gaza Strip.”

“The implementation of the procedure strengthens the indisputable ties between the two countries and contributes directly to Israel’s security.

  1. The same Biden administration that is allowing anybody and everybody to stream into the country without a visa through it’s southern border is making Israel bend over backwards to qualify to a visa waiver program.
