Israeli Company Spots Hamas Cyberattacks On West Bank Officials

An Israeli cybersecurity company Cybereason had spotted a string of cyberattacks targeting Palestinian Authority officials over the past few months, Jerusalem Post reported Thursday.

According to the company, as cited by the newspaper, the attacks were conducted by Hamas-affiliated hackers, with the modus operadi said to be similar to the hacks against Israelis.

The attackers reportedly tried to gain unauthorized access to the victims’ mobile phones in order to monitor their communications and snoop on them using the phone’s camera and microphone.
