On Sunday, Yaakov Litzman, a Member of Knesset and the Israeli Minister of Health visited Staten Island and spoke at the Young of Staten Island.  Dr. Louis Emmer, President of the Young Israel welcomed Rabbi Litzman and told the audience, “that Young Israel is proud to host Rabbi Litzman and that the Rabbi’s address demonstrates the close bond that Staten Island has with the State of Israel.”

Litzman in his remarks advised the audience of, “the need to eat healthy and the need to make certain that we have proper medical care.”  The Rabbi explained that his visit, “is to research medical care that would help him improve the Israeli health care system.”

Rabbi Mendy Mirocznik, Executive Vice-President of the Rabbinical Alliance of America (RAA/IGUD), and President of the Staten Island Council of Jewish Organizations stated that, “Rabbi Litzman’s visit shows the positive American – Israeli relationship that encompasses humanitarian issues that will only further help both nations advance the quality of life for all people.”
