Ophthalmologist Dr. David Smadja of Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Bar-Ilan University has patented “nanodrops” to correct short and long-sightedness in pigs, Jerusalem Post reported. Human tests are due later this year.

Developed at Bar-Ilan University’s Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, the drops may eliminate the need for glasses and expensive multifocal lenses.

Interacting with a pattern laser-stamped onto the corneas, the drops utilize synthetic nanoparticles to produce perfect vision.
