Israeli Police Continue Chareidi Targeting, Arrest Two at Levayah of Maran Hagaon Rav Dovid Feinstein zt”l

Israeli police did all they can to mar the levayah of the posek hador, Maran Hagaon Rav Dovid Feinstein zt”l, with the procession going from Shamgar through the Romema neighborhood en route to Har Hamenuchos.

Police tried to block the levayah procession, as many thousands came to pay their last respects to one of the gedolei hador.

Police who arrived at Ahaliav Street, near the entrance to the city, began blocking off the levayah, leading to a commotion between the attendees and the police. Two levayah participants were arrested.

Everyone present was wearing a mask, but the police didn’t care, one attendee told Matzav.com.

“Somehow, the rosh yeshiva‘s levayah in Manhattan, with tens of thousands in attendance, was held in perfect order,” said the attendee, “yet here in Israel they police just don’t get it.”

At Har Hamenuchos, police were waiting for the arrival of the procession, again antagonizing the attendees without justification.

The Israel Police claimed that the police forces were there to stop the many participants from gathering at the cemetery

The police said in a statement: “Following the levayah, Israeli police forces worked to prevent hundreds of participants from arriving at the cemetery and asked them to disperse, maintain health guidelines designed to save lives.”
