The Supreme Court accepted an appeal of the Tzohar organization to annul the refusal of the Chief Rabbinate to grant Tzohar authorization to grant hechsherim to imported foreign food products.

Years ago, the Chief Rabbinate relinquished its exclusive right to grant such hechsherim to other kashrus organizations, including the Eidah Hachareidis and Shas’s Beit Yosef.

Two years ago, the Chief Rabbinate rejected Tzohar’s request for the privilege due to alleged operational mismanagement and illegal activities.

The Supreme Court annulled the Chief Rabbinate’s decision, arguing that it failed to conduct a complete and proper administrative process before deciding against Tzohar and that the Rabbinate did not respond to Tzohar’s arguments in its defense.

The court ordered the Rabbinate to set deadlines to deal correctly with Tzohar’s request.

  1. This is another reason why judicial reform is absolutely necessary! The Israeli not-Supreme Court is so against Torah and its value system – it’s pathetic.

  2. Maybe it’s time for the Chief Rabbinate to annul the non-elected G-dless Supreme Court destroyers of the country?

  3. Anti judicial mobs are tied to Biden’s & Democrat pols. You didn’t want Trump, so you get what you voted for. Now stop whining.
