The Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO), part of the R&D Defense Directorate of the Defense Ministry, in collaboration with and the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA), have commenced the development of the Arrow-4 system, according to a joint statement Wednesday.
Arrow-4 is set to be an advanced, innovative interceptor missile with enhanced capabilities. It will address a wide range of evolving threats in the region – particularly Iranian and Hezbollah ballistic missiles – and will replace the Arrow-2 interceptors, one of the earlier incarnations of the missile defense system over a period of decades.
