Mifal Hapais, Israel’s national lottery, announced today that it has located the winner of the NIS 74 million prize, four months after the numbers were drawn.
The prize is the biggest in Israel’s history.
“We believed the winner would arrive sooner or later,” said the lottery’s manager of drawings and winnings in an interview with Army Radio. He added that the winner’s identity had been verified and that he will collect his winnings today.
“The winner said he was carrying the ticket around in his bag since December,” said the lottery manager. “But since he has a habit of checking multiple tickets at one, he only now discovered that he won.”
