Former President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on where the GOP went wrong during the midterm election. He says “it’s Mitch McConnell’s fault” that the red wave never materialized.

Kevin McCollough over at Townhall agrees with the former president; he blasted McConnell for “just writing checks.”

From Townhall:

I’m referring to the election of the next Senate leader for the GOP now that “Cocaine” Mitch McConnell has lost the Senate for the second cycle in a row. Elections bring about accountability. It’s time to make a change and that change should be an advocate for America First.

With the media peddling the idea of the red “trickle” most haven’t looked at the amazing accomplishments of this election.

Specifically, President Trump endorsed (America First) candidates went 219-16 among the races where President Trump worked, endorsed, rallied, and sacrificed. McConnell threw a record amount of money raised, in mostly only four Senate races, and discovered that just writing a check doesn’t do the same thing.

We now know that, regardless of how the Senate runoff election in Georgia shakes out, Democrats will hold the Senate now that Arizona and Nevada have now been called for the donkeys.

“Thank you, Nevada!” Cortez Masto said in a tweet Saturday evening after its two most populous counties, Clark and Washoe, finished counting mail-in ballots.

“I feel good for the country. Because so many people worried — I did — about this democracy,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said at a news conference late Saturday. “America showed that we believe in our democracy. That the roots of our democracy are deep and strong. And that it will prevail as long as we fight for it.”

Trump has frequently called for McConnell to be replaced, often floating Florida Senator Rick Scott as his replacement.

    • Rick Scott, who wants to replace McConnell, is even more to blame. He was in charge of the Republican Senate Campaign. And he spent huge amounts of the cash that was raised on politically connected consultants and mailing list vendors. Given that Scott ran a company that perpetrated the biggest Medicare fraud in history it should not be surprised that the biggest beneficiaries of his term weren’t candidates.

  1. Most feel that it’s Big Mouth Don’s fault. He’s so smart but so full of himself. Can’t he just shut up? Can’t he think of something nice to say! He’s delivering these wins to the Democrats on a silver platter. What a narcissist. Even Jarod and Ivanka do not want to partake in his next charade.

    • President Trump is on the ball. He knows what he’s saying.

Mitch McConnell killed a voting security act that would have hammered Dominion, after receiving thousands of dollars from the foreign company’s lobbyists.

  2. Mr. McConnell refused to send a single penny to the black Joe Pinion who ran a terrific campaign against Chuck Schumer. Mitch lost all respect by refusing to support a black candidate. If he would of sent GOP money to Mr. Pinion, he would of beaten Schumer.

  3. Normal Republican candidates would have won in NH, NV, AZ, and probably GA.Trump sabotaged the normal Republican running in CO. Trump’s priority is Trump not party or country.

    • It’s always a good thing to take advice from a democrat liberal such as yourself. Taking advice from the enemy makes a lot of sense.

  4. While I dont know if McConnel is to blame, he never either accepted the will of the people when they elected Trump. Yes, he’s a seasoned politician and can play it dumb, but it’s an obvious fact. He never put aside his personal ambitions and backed Trump when he was president.

As a side note, I find it sickening that people would rather vote for politicians who talk the talk but won’t walk the walk, rather than someone that walks the walk yet doesn’t talk the talk. They would rather ignore safety on the streets, get mugged, shoved on to subway tracks, get killed etc than ignore some talk.

  5. I think 75% Trump, 25% Mconnel , the election fraud people lost, but effective politicians won. I do however blame Mconnel for not being a sport over the last few years when Trump was an asset, therefore diluting his clout as a leader for the party, and in addition not helping all the candidates, instead choosing on his preferences only.
