Jimmy Carter was the first US president to be born in a hospital. Today, he marks a new milestone as the oldest living former president ever. At 94 years and 172 days old, Carter will have passed the previous record held by the late President George H.W. Bush.

“He and Mrs. Carter take walks, and they have followed a healthy diet for a lifetime,” Deanna Congileo, a spokeswoman for the Carter Center, told CNN. “Both President and Mrs. Carter are both determined to use their influence for as long as they can to make the world a better place, and millions of the world’s poorest people are grateful for their resolve and heart,” she added.

“But we at The Carter Center sure are rooting for him and grateful for his long life of service that has benefited millions of the world’s poorest people,” the center said in a statement. Read more at CNN.

  1. Well he only served as a one-termer and not so good at that either. He did preside over the Camp David Accords: Begin and Mubarak did the work and he also never did “LAAH” to us. 444 days of our hostages in Iran!! Not much accomplishment as president. At least he’s collecting tons of our tax dollars to sustain him and promote his virulent anti-Israel AND pro-arab bias! Whoever said peanuts do not help extend life?? Watch the peanut industry promote life’s longevity with the Jimmy as their poster child. lol

    • Not Mubarak but Sadat signed, and Sadat was murdered. The accords were what they were, but who knows if Jewish lives might have been lost otherwise. Perhaps this is the hidden merit for him to have a long life. He indeed collects a huge lot of dollars for his foundations, but I never donated to him and I suppose neither do you. I prefer Arab-supporting people donate to him than to AOC or Omar. We are in galut.

  2. We in klal yisroel wish him a special place in gehenom for his anti Israel actions and words and hatred of us. Bkarov B’yamainu

  3. And we, Klal Yisroel, wish him a special place in Gehinnom for his hatred of our people, Eretz Yisroel, and love of those who want to destroy us. B’Karov B’Yamainu!!

  4. What do you mean “he was the first President born in a hospital”?! Where was everyone else born? In the shoe store? On the street corner? Where do you come up with these bubbe maasos? Fake news.

    • This is a well-known fact, he was born at the hospital since his family was quite affluent, also I think his mother was educated as a nurse. His parents’ nice mansion, however, did not have electricity, nor running water faucets and no indoor “facilities” either.
In 1924 the world outside big cities must have been quite different! I recall when Carter was elected and all of this was broadcast on TV, and my grandfather telling me about his youth. Seemed to me like a fantasy story.
