Former Democratic U.S. senator and 2000 vice presidential candidate Joe Lieberman endorsed Republican Sen. Susan Collins (Maine) in an ad released Wednesday.

The ad, which was paid for by the Republican Jewish Coalition, features Lieberman saying Collins “stands up for Maine.” He also labeled Collins as a “fighter for women’s issues.”

“I’m a lifelong Democrat but I put my country first, always,” Lieberman said at the beginning of the video. “That’s why I’m supporting Susan Collins for Senate.”

  1. Sorry Joe but that’s not a contradiction. Susan Collins is a mostly Democrat also. It will be a great day when she is primaried by a conservative who will win the election.

  2. Joe is a lobbyist now. Sara Gideon has a backbone . Susan Collins is an enabler And it was Trump’s trade war that decimated maine lobster industry. She thinks Trump is crazy but she carries his water. I truly hope she loses, she won’t have to be troubled and concerned and will have time to relax.
