On Tuesday, King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized his country’s unwavering position against the forced relocation of Palestinian Arabs from Gaza and Judea and Samaria during a meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House.

The Jordanian king shared details of the conversation with Trump through a post on X, calling the discussion “constructive” and underscoring the enduring and robust relationship between Jordan and the United States. He wrote, “I reiterated Jordan’s steadfast position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. This is the unified Arab position. Rebuilding Gaza without displacing the Palestinians and addressing the dire humanitarian situation should be the priority for all.”

King Abdullah further stressed that securing a just peace through a two-state solution is crucial for ensuring stability in the region. He noted, “This requires US leadership. President Trump is a man of peace. He was instrumental in securing the Gaza ceasefire. We look to US and all stakeholders in ensuring it holds.”

During their meeting, President Trump reiterated his proposal for the United States to take control of Gaza and oversee its reconstruction, while facilitating the relocation of its residents to countries like Egypt and Jordan.

When asked if he would be willing to accept displaced Gazans, Trump indicated that there was a “99% chance that a solution will be worked out with Egypt.” He also explained the broader regional discussions by stating, “I think we have to keep in mind that there is a plan from Egypt to the Arab countries. So we’re being invited to discussions in Riyadh. The point is how do we make this work in a way that is good for everybody? We have to look at the best interests of the US, and the people in the region, especially to my people of Jordan. The first stage is to take 2,000 children with cancer out of the Gaza Strip.”

Regarding his vision for the US to take control of Gaza, Trump described it as a straightforward endeavor, stating, “This is not a complex thing to do. With the US in control of that piece of land, you’re going to have stability in the Middle East for the first time. The residents of Gaza will be living beautifully in another location. They will be living safely.”

He also reassured, “We are going to make sure there is going to be peace. We are going to run it very properly and eventually, we will have economic development at a very large scale, hotels and office buildings, and housing.”

  1. Because if the Palestinians come to Jordan, they will overthrow him! Remember Black September of 1970: September12th? Abdullah’s father killed thousands of them. They will certainly overthrow him.

  2. The Palestinians for years have been displaced INSIDE Gaza, an area they colonized and not a natural habitat of their species. So, King Abdullah, if you’re truly against their displacement, replace them into vast pre WWI Arabia, including the land strip your family were graciously given not long ago to govern, an area today called Jordan.
