Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris expressed her dismay on Wednesday regarding the death of Aysenur Eygi, a US citizen, during a protest near Shechem (Nablus). Harris described the incident as “unacceptable” and affirmed that the United States will push for clarity from Israel on the matter.

“The killing of Aysenur Eygi is a horrific tragedy that never should have happened. Doug and I are keeping her family and loved ones in our prayers. Aysenur was peacefully protesting in the West Bank — standing up against the expansion of settlements — when her young life was senselessly cut short. No one should be killed for participating in a peaceful protest. The shooting that led to her death is unacceptable and raises legitimate questions about the conduct of IDF personnel in the West Bank. Israel must do more to ensure that incidents like this never happen again,” said Harris in her official statement.

Harris acknowledged Israel’s preliminary investigation into the situation, which suggested that the death was the result of an accidental error by the IDF. “Israel’s preliminary investigation indicated it was the result of a tragic error for which the IDF is responsible. We will continue to press the government of Israel for answers and for continued access to the findings of the investigation so we can have confidence in the results. There must be full accountability,” she added.

In concluding her remarks, Harris made it clear that the US would hold any parties responsible for fueling violence in the West Bank accountable. “The United States will continue to hold accountable anyone in the West Bank — Israelis and Palestinians — who stokes violence and undermines peace and stability,” she emphasized.

The IDF, on Tuesday, shared the results of their internal investigation concerning the Friday incident, which resulted in Eygi’s death. According to their findings, it is believed that Eygi was unintentionally struck by stray gunfire that had not been aimed at her but was instead directed at a key figure in the riot.

The riot itself occurred at Beita Junction, where a large group of Palestinian protesters were involved in violent acts, including burning tires and throwing rocks at Israeli security forces.

President Joe Biden also weighed in on the tragedy. Initially, when asked about Eygi’s death, he responded, “Apparently, it was an accident, ricocheted off the ground, and just hit by accident. I’m working that out now.” However, by Wednesday, Biden issued a more pointed statement, expressing his condemnation of the event.

“I am outraged and deeply saddened by the death of Aysenur Eygi. Aysenur was a recent US college graduate. She was also an activist whose idealism led her to travel to the West Bank to peacefully protest the expansion of settlements. The shooting that led to her death is totally unacceptable,” Biden’s statement read.

Biden further commented on Israel’s role, saying, “Israel has acknowledged its responsibility for Aysenur’s death, and a preliminary investigation has indicated that it was the result of a tragic error resulting from an unnecessary escalation. The US government has had full access to Israel’s preliminary investigation and expects continued access as the investigation continues so that we can have confidence in the result. We will continue to stay in close contact with Israeli and Palestinian authorities regarding the circumstances that led to Aysenur’s death.”

Biden also underscored the importance of ensuring such incidents are prevented in the future, calling for accountability. “There must be full accountability. And Israel must do more to ensure that incidents like this never happen again,” he added.

Addressing the broader situation in the West Bank, Biden pointed to the ongoing cycle of violence and placed blame on both sides. “The violence in the West Bank has been going on for too long. Violent extremist Israeli settlers are uprooting Palestinians from their homes. Palestinian terrorists are sending car bombs to kill civilians. I will continue to support policies that hold all extremists – Israelis and Palestinians alike – accountable for stoking violence and serving as obstacles to peace,” Biden concluded.

  1. What a bunch of cursed hypocrites. The news of the past week contains several terror attacks, stabbings, rammings, etc. Not a single word from these terror loving Dems. That’s why Klal Yisroel must actively campaign for Republicans. Biden and Harris, y”sh are rabid anti-Semites. They utter some statements that are an effort to coverup their true hatred. They should never occupy public office.

  2. To all the liberal jews (religious and non religious), as well as jews voting for a Democrat for the money handouts who will be voting for this evil dummy in November, Jewish blood will be on your hands

  3. Despite Israel doing more to avoid noncombatant deaths than any other country in history has done in a time of war, they’re not perfect and will never be perfect.
This is excellent news for Kamala Harris and others who feel it necessary to criticize Israel and placate their left wing / Jew-hating / Israel-hating voters. Just imagine if Israel had invented the smartest bomb ever created, one which only killed or injured card-carrying Hamas members – what would Harris, Bernie Sanders, and others from the “I support Israel’s right to defend itself, but..” have to say in order to soothe Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, the rest of The Squad?
Thankfully, Israel is imperfect, so the condemnations can continue. Whew!

  4. DemoRATS: That is what they are, and even though the following has nothing to do with the killing of the reshante that attended this “peaceful” protest…… how about this one: No one should be forced or coerced to take the Covid Vaccine either, and that is what the current administration did. They closed businesses, killed innocent fathers, mothers and children by forcing them to take the vaccine or they lose their job etc. As Dr. Zelenko said; three to five years after the shot will be the worst time………………and he was hoping he was wrong. Shame on this administration. If any of our Yiddelach vote democratic, then this is what they will get; only worse is to come.

First off I highly either of them, particularly Doug, ever actually pray to begin with. Secondly if they do they should find a more important cause to pray for than someone who went halfway around the world to interlope in a conflict that had nothing to do with her but then found herself in more trouble than she was looking for. Thirdly they should also be expressing major outrage at the organization who recruited this idiot and sent her to a place on the US travel advisory list to be used as a human shield and canon fodder for their cause

Peaceful??? What part of that is peaceful. If you’re near such riots, tale the consequences.

    And israel should not apologize.

  8. Dear President Biden and Vice President Harris,

I found Ms Harris’ earphone earrings very becoming at the Tuesday night debate with Mr Trump.

I admire your advocacy of right over wrong, and life over murder. Yes, the IDF accidentally kills innocent people. All armies do that. In fact, in the current war, there have been several instances of the IDF killing its own soldiers and civilians with friendly fire. The IDF has also killed Israeli hostages unintentionally. By the way, I recall learning once that the Enola Gay US aircraft killed (i.e., vaporized) at least one innocent civilian in Hiroshima in 1945.

I read today that you have expressed dismay over the Aysenur Eygi incident and have called it, “unacceptable.” You are being quoted as saying, “The killing of Aysenur Eygi is a horrific tragedy that never should have happened. Doug and I are keeping her family and loved ones in our prayers…Israel must do more to ensure that incidents like this never happen again… There must be full accountability… The shooting that led to her death is totally unacceptable” I agree. How about if we start solving this problem with the release of all hostages and the trials of those responsible for their kidnapping, mistreatment and murder.

Perhaps you have heard that some Hamas fighters, UNWRA employees, journalists, and Gaza civilians crossed the border with Israel on October 7, 2023, and intentionally murdered about 1200 human beings many of whom had committed the undeniable crime of breathing while Jewish. Another 200-300 civilians were taken prisoner by the invading Gazans. Some of the murder victims were American citizens and some of those taken hostage were American citizens. What have you done to secure the release of those hostages? Recently, Hersh Polin Goldberg was shot in the back of his head with five fellow hostages by one of the heroic, Gazan freedom fighters.

I wonder if you had expressed equivalent outrage, 1400 times greater than the outrage you are expressing today at the murder of these innocents by the Gazans. Are you demanding that Hamas organize a complete, detailed investigation of the hostage murders and the savage, bloodthirsty October 7 assault? Are you demanding accountability from the Gazan murderers? How have you communicated your opinion(?) to Hamas that such murders must not happen again? With what prose have you demanded from Hamas that it not repeat such outrages?

I understand that it is a violation of International Law to take hostages from a non-combatant civilian population. Incontrovertibly, this is the behavior Hamas exhibited on October 7, 2023. Hamas wants/demands world recognition as a sovereign state and membership in the United Nations. But Hamas has declared its intention to repeat October 7 again and again. Do you believe that the Palestinians should be welcomed into the world community given that their policy is to murder every Jew they can. Has anyone ever explained to you what, “Globalize the Intifada” means?

It is intensely ironic that a group of genocide-accusing persons, Hamas, explicitly advocates the genocide of others (all Jews). I also think it is intensely ironic that my some of my Jewish brothers and sisters will vote for Komradala Harris in November.

In my first sentence, I wrote that Ms Harris’ earphone earrings were very becoming. I was wrong. I should have stated that Ms Harris is becoming an overt supporter of Israel’s enemies and an in-your-face cheater and violator of the debate rules. Maybe you will answer me that no debate rule forbade the use of earphone earrings. Ms Harris’ behavior is unbecoming for a presidential candidate.
