The artist previously recognized as Kanye West has issued a formal apology to the Jewish community on Tuesday, addressing the backlash triggered by his antisemitic comments and expressing remorse for any distress his words may have caused.

Last year, the rapper, now known as Ye, stirred controversy with his erratic social media posts. One particular post raised eyebrows as it seemingly depicted a swastika inside a Magein Dovid, accompanied by praise for Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

In a written statement posted on Instagram in Hebrew, Ye conveyed, “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unplanned outburst. … It was not my intent to hurt or disrespect, and I very much regret any pain I may have caused.”

Following a series of antisemitic rants in interviews and on social media, Ye faced consequences, including the termination of partnerships with Adidas and Gap for Yeezy products. Additionally, restrictions were imposed on his social media accounts during that period.

On Tuesday, Ye reiterated his commitment to personal growth and learning from the experience, pledging to cultivate greater sensitivity and understanding in the future.

“I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unplanned outburst. …. It was not my intent to hurt or disrespect, and I very much regret any pain I may have caused,” the musician, wrote on Instagram in Hebrew.

After Ye went on a string of antisemitic rants in interviews and on social media, he lost his partnership with Adidas and Gap for Yeezy products. His remarks also led to restrictions on his social media accounts at the time.

“Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to repair and to advancing unity.”

  1. If he wants to do Teshuva which of course he doesn’t let him turn to the NON Jewish community repudiating what he said about Jews in general.

  2. It looks like somebody cut-and-pasted Hebrew characters into an English word processing program. The text is left-aligned (correct for English, incorrect for Hebrew) and both the opening and closing quotation marks are on the wrong sides of the lines. All in all, it’s pretty pathetic.

  3. who cares… before he said it we shouldnt have cared and after he said it we dont need to care. What difference should this exactly make in the life and mind of a frum yid!

  4. It’s o.k., buddy. We know you’re an imbecile. Some of the greatest musical geniuses were intellectual &/or moral idiots. Maybe it goes with the score. But heads up to your accountant who chose a very adept translator. Where did he learn it. Weren’t you a lucky boychik!
