The Nirbater Rov, Rav Aharon Teitelbaum, has released a notice that, due to the recent worldwide problem of raisin infestation, he had his mashgichim check the Mishpacha brand raisins, which are under his hashgacha, and they were found to be part of the problem. The Nirbater Rov has therefore requested that consumers return this product to the store for a full refund.
Matzav.com has learned that Sun-Maid and Dole brand raisins are also part of the problem. In fact, in one 15 oz. container, the Mechon L’Bedikas Tolaim in Brooklyn found over 50 insects, and they were all “nirah l’einayim.”
Consumers are urged to abstain from using these raisins until the matter is resolved.
In other kashrus news, note that a limited number of Tradition Brand Chicken Noodle Soup Cups have been labeled with the Jehling Brand Ramen noodle soup lids. This product was produced with a mashgiach temidi and is kosher parve.
