House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) attracted attention last week when he said in a floor speech that former President Donald Trump “bears responsibility” for the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
But since then, he has seemed to walk back his criticism.
On Thursday, he told reporters that he didn’t actually believe Trump had “provoked” the mob of his supporters.
“No, I have not changed in that,” he said.
He stood by his assertion that Trump does bear some responsibility for what happened. But, he added, so does every other person around the country.
McCarthy then started pointing to Democrats who opposed Trump, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), people who are rude on social media and law enforcement authorities who didn’t prepare for the attack as some of the people who were somehow responsible.

McCarthy has become unhinged. Yes, it’s true that Maxine Waters incited her ilk to go out and attack WHITE Republicans, but we already knew that Ms. Waters is an incompetent idiot. McCarthy should be replaced.
His first statement that Trump was responsible it the correct one. The new statement is a result of pressure from Trump and his supporters.
NO, trump was not responsible. He was the patriot leader. There was never ever violence from his rallies. It was always the other side that distrupted. The democrats have used this tactic of infiltrating trumps rallies and causing chaos just that this time it worked for them. It was planned before this rally. The fact that the MSM doesnt feed its citizens with honest reporting confuses a whole generation and causes uproar.

Utter nonsense. The only people responsible are the Capitol police who did not do their job.
Capitol police = protect the capitol. They utterly failed at what they are hired to do.
Proof: Capitol police chief and BOTH sergeant at arms resigned. If its all Trumps fault, why did they all resign?
